Bobbie O'Reilly
Bobbie was raised in Wilmette and Winnetka, moved to Buffalo Grove in 1971, and then to Long Grove in 1987.
Deeply involved in community activities, she was personally responsible for the development of Twin Groves Park at Ivy Hall School. She was a guiding force in the successful referendum to build Prairie School. Twice elected, Bobbie served eight years (1978-1986) on the Buffalo Grove Village Board. She was chairman of the committee responsible for bringing Lake Michigan water to the community, helped form the Buffalo Grove Fire Department as a municipal entity, was actively involved in purchasing the Buffalo Grove Golf Course, and updated the village’s developer donation ordinance that resulted in significant additions to acreage later dedicated to the Buffalo Grove Park District’s holdings. In 1987, she was elected to a four year term on the Lake County Board (representing Long Grove, Kildeer, Hawthorn Woods, Buffalo Grove, Lake Zurich and the Barrington area) and the Board of the Lake County Forest Preserve where she served as Chairman of the Finance Committee. During the 1990’s, Bobbie served two terms as president of the Long Grove Historical Society and also spent several years as the director of its popular Archer School program, where she continues to volunteer as a docent/teacher.
Bobbie joined McKee Real Estate in 1992, purchased the business in 2002, and doubled the volume by 2006. An opportunity for further growth presented itself and in May, 2007, McKee joined Weichert Real Estate Affiliates, Inc., the largest and fastest growing privately owned real estate company in the nation, with over 550 corporate and franchise offices, and became WEICHERT, REALTORS® - McKee Real Estate.
Bobbie is currently active with the Long Grove Lions Club, the Long Grove/Kildeer Benefit Bridge Group and the Long Grove/Kildeer Newcomers and Oldtimers Club. She sponsors and actively supports many community, school, scouting and athletic groups. Hobbies include gardening, reading, playing bridge and spending time with her grandchildren.
